We are making now a reflexion with our students on the necessity of spaces of relation that improve the local interchange, thinking about how the desing  must respond and its program of activities. For that reason we published now the meeting that we had in January with the Director of the Civic Center of “O Castrillón” and the respresentants of the associations of majors and women, to whom we are thankful for its interest and the patience that they had to explain why serves a Civic Center to us, that activities are realised in, and how the local participation is fomented.

Throughout 20th century in the socially more advanced european countries, they have been created spaces for the community that among others served like place of cultural events, they offered Personal Services, and they would incorporate a place for groups or local organizations. These places and buildings that in Spain have arisen from the arrival of the Democracy, have received names like social, civic, communitarian centers, culture houses, sociocultural centers… in their design and organization coexist activities for the relation of the inhabitants of the district and the city through leisure and the culture. Its form does not respond to a type and varies so much as the multitude of activities that renders, by day and at night, for different social groups, and ages. These are also named as equipments of proximity, and they are born to enrich the local relation in the districts and to create citizens, but, they obtain really it.

Why it serves a Civic Center? , What activities are realised in him? , Who programs his activities? , What type of people participates more in it? …
